A Breakthrough Year: Two Professional Playground Safety Certifications Debut in Hong Kong

In 2025, Anne Marden Playright Academy (AMPA) reached a major milestone in advancing playground and public space safety in Hong Kong. We successfully launched two internationally recognized professional safety courses:
 
✅CPSI – Certified Playground Safety Inspector Certification Program (in person, world recognized)
✅RPII Level 3 – Outdoor Annual Playground Inspection Course, introduced in Hong Kong for the first time
 
👍🏻These achievements mark a significant step forward for Hong Kong, as AMPA is now able to offer both ASTM aligned (ASTM F1487, F1292, F2223, F3313) and EN aligned (EN1176 Parts 1–7 & 11, EN16630, EN15312, EN14974, EN16899, EN17232) professional training—two standards widely applied across Hong Kong’s children’s play spaces.
 
▶️Expanding Beyond Children’s Playgrounds
RPII Level 3 goes beyond traditional playground equipment. The course provides comprehensive training on the safety inspection of fitness facilities, outdoor gym equipment, multi use games areas, and skate parks, reflecting the full range of recreational facilities found in Hong Kong’s public open spaces. Participants gain both theoretical grounding and hands on assessment experience. Upon passing written and practical assessments, candidates earn the RPII Level 3 qualification.

RPII Level 3 – Outdoor Annual Playground Inspection Course was instructed by Mr David Yearley, RPII Routine, Operational & Annual Level Trainer & Examiner, Chairman of Register of Play Inspectors International Limited and Managing Director of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

In Hong Kong's 1st RPII Level 3 – Outdoor Annual Playground Inspection Course, Trainer & Examiner Mr David Yearly demonstrated the methodology of Risk Assessment, theoretical knowledge and practical ability to identify faults and problems to the required standard.
